NBSAThe National Basketball Shooters Association, NBSA - www.nbsashooters.com, was established in 2009 by a group of free throw Guinness record holders, free throw masters and experts in teaching and coaching free throw mastery.  Our purpose is to improve free throw and three point shooting at all levels of ability, in game time and in shooting competition.
We accomplish this improvement with Interactive video of experts shooting in practice and in competition and by written instruction from our experts, viewed at our web site.  The NBSA has a National basketball shooting program, which is being introduced in 2017 through our NBSA State Championships and NBSA National Championship competitions. NBSA State and National ranking begin in 2017.
The NBSA, at the Huntsman World Senior Games, Free Throw Championship is in it's 5th season.  The NBSA Championship format was developed to help determine local, state, national and world rankings.  What the NBSA does is qualify the top shooters and scores from the Huntsman World Senior Games event, we use just the free throw scores, then seed those shooters according to their score into a single elimination draw sheet.  The shooters then go head to head, alternating shots, first to 25.  If tied at 25, shooters go into sudden death, win by one.
Our record in this type of head to head, alternating shot competition was set last year in Las Vegas in our 25 and over World Invitational Basketball Shooters  Championships by Mike Anderson and Bob Owen.  In the free throw event they went 107 to 108 before Bob Owen prevailed.  Come and watch the Championship round October 10th at the Washington City Community Center, immediately after the free throw / three point age division competition, where few shots are missed by the best basketball shooters in the world.
