St. George, UT – As the largest annual multisport event for people 50 and older in the world, the Huntsman World Senior Games is continually partnering with donors and sponsors to help ensure a successful and inspirational event no matter the political or economic climate of the day. Potential sponsors and donors are often invited to come witness the Games for themselves.
“It’s important for sponsors to see the size and scope of the Huntsman World Senior Games. They need to know if our event will be a good fit for their products and services; and we try to make sure each sponsor is also a good fit for our athletes,” said Andy Groft, Director of Sponsor Relations with the Games.
Last year, Los Angeles based homeopathic medicine company Hyland’s decided to bring a marketing team to the Games to see what all the fuss was about. “When we realized that the Huntsman World Senior Games was expecting roughly the same number of athletes as competed in the 2012 London Olympics, we had to come check things out,” said Coral Darby, a representative for Hyland’s. “We were pleasantly surprised with the organization of the event as well as the energy and enthusiasm of the athletes. We decided to come on as a Silver Medal Sponsor for at least the next three years.” Coral quickly saw that these people were not only active and vibrant, but they were influential leaders in their respective communities. “As we earn the trust of these senior athletes, we feel they will promote Hyland’s products to their circles of influence around the country,” she added.
“We’re excited to welcome Hyland’s into our family of sponsors,” says Kyle Case, CEO of the Games. “In 2012 we hosted senior athletes from every state in the US and from six continents. We think these athletes will resonate with the philosophies and the products Hyland’s offers.”
“Hyland’s is hopeful about this partnership,” says Thao Le, Marketing VP at Hyland’s, Inc. “We embrace the idea of ‘Be There, Do That’ in our efforts to promote healthy and active lifestyles. And the Huntsman World Senior Games is a virtual sea of people being there, and doing that.”
Hyland’s not only came on as a 2013 Silver Medal Sponsor, they also helped fund the Athlete Shirts given to all registered athletes and official fans. And since one of their most trusted medicines – Hyland’s Leg Cramps – will be a solo feature on the back of the shirts, their donation to an outstanding event will pay off in good will and help spread the word about a medicine that provides relief for so many.
