First comes the golf courses - quality, competitive, highly respected and the reason that St. George is one of the West's prime golf destinations. Oh, and the views are free! Lush green fairways, flanked by red desert cliffs and ancient black lava beds are naturally accented by the blue cool mountain ranges in the distance.
Second, are the choices: Social golf for the social golfer and a warm-up for medal golfers; Medal golf for the competitive golfer; and a golf skills challenge for both.
This total package of golf is all the reason you need to put the Games in your golf schedule for this year.
Medal Golf | Age Divisions - Oct. 14 - 15, 2014 | | Handicap Division - Oct. 16, 2014 | NOTE NEW DIVISION
- Take some of the West's best courses, place them in a spectacular setting of red hills and dramatic mountain ranges of Southern Utah, then make it a two-day, 36-hole competitive event for Age Divsions or a one day 18-hole tournament for Handicap play. Golf just doesn't get any better than this. It's worth noting that only the Age Division qualifies for the 2015 National Senior Games.
Competing for the gold in your age division enhances your chance of winning whether you are 50 or 100 years of age. Our Medal Golf event is both a gross and net event with two skill levels. Just submit your handicap index with your entry form and then get ready to tee it up.
Don't miss this spectacular tournament.
Social Golf | Oct. 6 & 13, 2014
- No medals here. But don't worry there are more prizes than in a whole crate of Cracker Jacks - and a lot nicer, too. If you enjoy golf and want to play for fun and prizes, then this is for you.
Here's how it works: All foursomes are comprised of a golfer from each of four different skill levels. Once the teams are set, we hit the course competing for all these great prizes in an 18-hole best-ball scramble format. But that's not all - later in the day we all gather for braggin' rights at our great sport social, complete with free food and entertainment - Oh, and prizes for the winners, too.
Social Golf is played on each Monday of the Games - two sessions - one each Monday. Your can play just one or both sessions. This event is just plain fun!! Don't miss it!
Golf Skills Challenge | Oct. 15, 2014
- Here's your chance to show-off. Is putting your game? Or, how about chipping or pitching? No, then all that's left is hitting it long and straight! Whatever your strength - we have it!
Our Golf Skills Challenge is a series of four stations set up to test your skill - Putting - Pitching - Chip and Run - Long Distance Accuracy. And you can try as many times as you like if time allows! This event follows the second day of Medal Golf and goes until just before Medal Golf's sport social.
Don't miss this chance to show you're the best!
